ABOUT OUR PROVIDERS

Mr. Javier John Almeida, PA-C

Mr. John Almeida has been practicing as a PA in El Paso for the last 18 years. He graduated from Eastwood High School, followed by UT Austin. He received his Physician Assistant degree from UT Pan American. Mr. Almeida has focused on diabetes, thyroid, testosterone, and osteoporosis care for the last 5 years.

John is an active member of the American Society of Endocrine Physician Assistants and the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists.

He has received advanced training certificates from the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) and has been trained on advanced diabetes management devices such as the InPen system and Omipod. 

 Mr. Almeida enjoys watching his sons play baseball and soccer at the high school level. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and mountain biking.

Mrs. Jacqueline Parada FNP-C

Jacqueline Parada, MSN, FNP-C is a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of nursing experience in the management of chronic and complex health conditions. She is a proud Riverside High School graduate. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from El Paso Community College in 2010, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas

Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in 2014. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner at The University of Texas at El Paso College of Nursing in May 2023 and is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Jacqueline is known for her patient-centered approach, strong clinical judgment, and commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care across the lifespan.

Outside of practice, she enjoys:

  • Being a proud mom to two active boys
  • Life as a firefighter’s wife
  • Attending live music events and concerts

Edgar Reyna, MD

Edgar Reyna, MD, is a graduate of Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara Medical School and completed training in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University at El Paso. Dr. Reyna has been practicing medicine since 2002, the last 7 years in El Paso, TX, at EP Family Doctor and the Hospitals of Providence. Dr. Reyna is board certified in Family Medicine and is fluent in both English and Spanish. When not working, Dr. Reyna enjoys spending time in the outdoors, riding motorcycles, and always planning for the next adventure.

Our clinic in El Paso, Texas is an affiliate of EP Family Doctor but focuses in endocrinology. I have known Mr. Almeida for several years, and he has played a crucial role in improving my health. About two years ago, I started experiencing multiple health issues that seemed to hit me all at once. Mr. Almeida helped me manage these problems; however, my symptoms worsened. I highly recommend this office, they are: Efficient, friendly and compassionate. The entire office, from the top down, take their job seriously and with pride. Most importantly is that they listen to your needs. You can tell Mr. Almeida really cares about the health of his patients, he seats with you and explains your progress or what’s needed to improve your health. Also his assistant Laura calls you at home and checks how are you doing, any medications needed and overall how are you doing. This is something that I really like, Laura is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly, I tell my friends and family how I like that Mr. Almeida has Laura calling to make sure his patients are doing fine. How many doctors do this? Very happy to be their patient.
